F86 Sabre

In December of 1950, the USAF reclaimed its air supremacy in the skies over Korea against the Russian built MIG 15 with the arrival of the F86 Sabre.

Major Badger flew his F86 of the 49th Fighter Group with the black and white invasion stripes carried over from WWII. The F86 compiled an impressive kill ratio of eighteen to one against its communist foes.

In 1998, Major Badger and his fellow pilots from the 4th  Fighter Group, with whom he served prior to the Korean War, were honored with the commission of this painting by Central Missouri Aviation at its Memorial Day Celebration and Air Show
